What is Echonote?
Echonote turns any podcast episode into a searchable transcript, a concise summary, and clean chapter markers — so you can read, search, and reference episodes instead of only listening.
Which podcasts can I transcribe?
Search Apple Podcasts' catalog (which covers ~99% of shows, including most that are also on Spotify), or paste an Apple Podcasts, RSS, or direct MP3 link.
How accurate are the transcripts?
Transcription uses OpenAI's Whisper model, which delivers high accuracy across accents and topics. Summaries and chapters are generated with GPT.
Do I need my own API key?
Yes — you bring your own OpenAI API key, so you only pay OpenAI for what you transcribe at cost. Your key is encrypted and stored securely.
How long does transcription take?
Usually a few minutes, depending on the length of the episode. You can opt to get an email when your transcript is ready.
Can I share my transcripts?
Yes. Any transcript can be made public with a shareable link, or kept private to your account.
